ON THE MOUND:

Joba Chamberlain allowed three hits on two runs and three walks in 4 1/3 innings. He also struck out three. The big blows were the back- to back homeruns by Utley and Howard. His curve wasn't really affective today but he changed speeds on his change, slider and fastball to get through.

Phil Coke relieved Chamberlain and retired his only two batters faced on 2 strikeouts.

Edwar Ramirez pitched a scoreless inning and whiffed two.

Brian Bruney threw up a zero in his only inning of work, on 1 hit and 1 strikeout.

Jose Veras did not allow a run in the 8th although he did serve up two hits.

Jonathan Albaladejo continues to dominate as he shutout the phillies in the 9th. He's ERA is now down to 0.93

THE OFFENSE:

Derek Jeter ( 2-4, 2 R, SB) hit leadoff, which is where he is expected to be in the Yankees' lineup on Opening Day. He hit a single in the first inning and scored on Hideki Matsui's two-run home run down the right-field line to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.

Cody Ransom hit a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.

Jeter doubled and scored on Johnny Damon's ( 1-4, SB) RBI single in the fifth to make it 4-2.

Nick Swisher (1) and Melky Cabrera (1) each homered in the eighth. Melky drove in a total of 3 runs.

Linden ( 1-2, R) and Cash ( 1-1, R) added on an RBI a piece.
