INSIDER: The Yanks have figured the O's out as they have won eight straight vs. Baltimore.

ON THE MOUND:

A.J. Burnett was charged with six runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Felix Pie touched Burnett for a solo home run in the first inning and Melvin Mora drilled a two-run single to tie the game in the third inning, scoring Nick Markakis and Nolan Reimold.

Posada's second homer of the night briefly gave New York a 5-3 lead, but Burnett gave the runs right back in the fifth, allowing two hits before Luke Scott crushed a long three-run homer down the right-field line and on to Eutaw Street.

He just kept missing his spots and looked awful on the mound.

The bullpen did a fine job. Damaso Marte, David Robertson and Phil Coke combined for 2.2 scoreless.

Mariano Rivera picked up save No. 38 with a scoreless 9th.

THE OFFENSE:

Trailing 1-0, Robinson Cano got the offense started with a two-run homer.

With the game tied at 3-3 in the 3rd, Posada went deep again. It was his 16th multi-homer game of his career. Posada's second round-tripper came after he headed for the dugout thinking he had struck out in the fifth inning. He then went back to the plate and slugged a two-run shot off Orioles starter David Hernandez. For those keeping count, it's HR # 20 for Posada.

Trailing 6-5 through five innings, the Yankees tied the game as Melky Cabrera walked to open the sixth and Derek Jeter legged out a hit to chase Dennis Sarfate. Lefty Alberto Castillo got the next two outs, but Alex Rodriguez got to Chris Ray with a run-scoring single to center.

Nick Swisher belted a two-run homer off Ray in the seventh, his 23rd of the year and Eric Hinske followed with a shot to left-center, his 7th. It was the 14th time the Yankees have hit back-to-back homers this season.
