It almost seems inevitable that Yasiel Puig will do something amazing when he steps on to a baseball field. He proved that Saturday in Denver.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Drew Stubbs hit a deep fly ball to right field that Puig initially misread. However, Puig quickly recovered to make an incredible diving catch to rob Stubbs of a would-be extra-base hit.

But the play does not stop there. Catcher Wilin Rosario tried to advance from second to third after Puig made the acrobatic catch, but the gamble did not pay off. Puig stood up and fired a perfect strike to third base for an inning-ending double play.
Just when you think he can’t outdo himself, the Cuban outfielder rises to the occasion. He surely is worth the price of admission.Filed under: Andrew Battifarano, Los Angeles Dodgers, MLB, Top Stories

When Yasiel Puig makes a great catch, we don’t blink all that much anymore. When he makes a great throw, it’s almost old hat by now. But when Puig lays out to make a catch at the edge of the warning track, jumps to his feet, and throws a runner out at third base? Yeah, you just saw something phenomenal.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw extended his scoreless-innings streak to 36 after pitching a two-hit shutout for eight innings in a 9-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. DJ LeMahieu singled in the third inning, the Rockies first base hit off Kershaw in 13 innings, which included his June 18 no-hitter against them...
Do not get in the way of Yasiel Puig when he is getting all jacked up, or you could end up like poor Hyun-Jin Ryu this Saturday. Check out the hilarious reaction Ryu gives when he walks into a very hyped Puig.

Yasiel Puig has done it again.
In the bottom of the 8th inning of yesterday’s Dodgers game against the Colorado Rockies, Drew Stubbs hit a somewhat routine fly-ball to right field and Yasiel Puig misjudged it completely.
However, Puig recovered majestically to make an absurd diving catch. But that wasn’t it. He got up and threw out Willin Rosario who was trying to tag up...
The Los Angeles Dodgers will have to continue their mix and match season at shortstop as a result of not one, but two injury developments on Sunday. The first of those came prior to Sunday's game, when Erisbel Arruebarena was placed on the DL with a right hip flexor strain and was replaced by Carlos Triunfel, as reported by Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times:Right hip flexor strain...
The Los Angeles Dodgers are one lucky team. They have the most dominant pitcher that the game has seen in quite a while. Not only is Clayton Kershaw a lefty, but he just turned 26 in March! The NL West is in trouble for a very long time. After his outing last night in which he shut the Colorado Rockies out over 8 innings, Kershaw now has a scoreless streak of 36 innings. He has also...

Hanley Ramirez is getting a scheduled off-day on Sunday, which means Erisbel Arruebarrena will start in his place. Oh wait, of course he won’t. He’s hurt, because this is the Dodgers and that’s what everyone does — they get hurt.

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday by the score of 8-7. Despite the loss, the Dodgers are 50-40 and remain in first place in the National League West, a half game ahead of the San Francisco Giants. On the injury front, lefty reliever Scott Elbert, who has been trying to come back from Tommy John surgery, had his rehab halted. Fortunately, the latest...

Evan: I noticed that the Bleacher Report did a little mock trade scenario, with each GM played by a BR employee. They had each mock GM make their most likely (and best offer) they would trade for Price given their teams’ prospects, needs, surpluses in certain areas where...
After going 6-0 record, having a ERA under 1.90 and also throwing a no hitter many people have to wonder is this Kershaw’s league. A couple years ago we saw Justin Verlander dominate hitters for a whole season and now we are seeing Kershaw do the same thing. Kershaw got paid 215 million for 7 years a few months ago and he has lived up to the contract. As the season is getting closer...
The haves really rubbed it in on the have-nots this weekend.
Josh Beckett’s five scoreless innings Sunday set up the Dodgers for an 8-2 win over the pitching-starved Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers took three out of four in the series with their starting pitchers in the three victories — Beckett and newly minted All-Stars Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw — allowing one earned...
There's a pecking order to the home run bat-flip and rooster walk. In Washington last week, budding Rockies slugger Corey Dickerson said he wasn't ready to stride out of the batter's box with a mean lean.
Second-year Dodgers bomber Yasiel Puig, on the other hand, is king of the jerk-and-chuck, yanking home runs and tossing bats aside like so many soda drink straws. El...
