Found August 29, 2012 on Miller Park Drunk:
Well it kind of looks like this is going to be Brewers Appreciation Week because I am all about the love right now. These guys deserve it. Aramis Ramirez has been killing the baseball lately and that deserves kudos. I could write twenty five hundred words about Ryan Braun anytime, any place. I could do it every single day if I wanted to. He's that good, but you know who never really seems to get his due? Yo. We hardly ever talk about Yo which is weird because Yo is freaking awesome. Yo is my bro. Yovani Gallardo has always been outshone by his fellow starters. When the Brewers got Marcum we knew that Marcum would be #2 to Yo, but we still thought about Marcum more. Marcum was new, Marcum was exciting and Yo was still Yo. Then the Brewers got Zack Greinke and Gallardo took a clear backseat. Zack Greinke was a former Cy Young winner with all the potential in the world. He seemed like he was a constant threat to pitch a perfect game or strike out a billion batters. Yo? Yo would get...

Braun, Ramirez, Hart order up the hits

MILWAUKEE Ryan Braun's ninth-inning home run towered over the crowd at Wrigley Field as it exploded off of his bat and onto Waveland Ave., out of the Chicago ballpark. Four hundred and four feet off his bat with the wind blowing in, Braun's moonshot would be tough for anyone in baseball to replicate. "It's Ryan Braun," joked fellow outfielder Carlos Gomez...

Marcum fills important role in Brewers rotation

MILWAUKEE There's no telling what would have happened if elbow tightness hadn't derailed Shaun Marcum for more than two months of his season. His name had been brought up as a trade possibility -- an expiring contract that could provide good value for a contender's stretch run. He's still being named as a waiver trade possibility. And for good reason: before Marcum...

Top Play: Brewers hit back-to-back-back home runs in ninth

The Milwaukee Brewers proved to be spoilers for Cubs fans at Wrigley filed on Monday night, as Ryan Braun, Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart hit three consecutive home runs in the ninth inning. The Cubs entered the ninth with a two run lead, only to finish the game on the short end of a 15 to 4 romp. The nine-run ninth inning began with a there-run blast off the bat of reigning NL MVP...

K-Rod's woes continue late for Brewers

MILWAUKEE Francisco Rodriguez looked, in his last handful of recent appearances, like he was on his way back to resembling the reliever that tallied the most saves ever in a single season. Or, at least, a reliever that could handle setup duties for a team 17 games out of their divisional race. His command, which had gone awry in more than a few outings this season, seemed to be...

Marcum, Brewers look to sweep Chicago

The Milwaukee Brewers have come to expect significant offensive production from Ryan Braun against the Chicago Cubs. Norichika Aoki's production has been even more impressive. Braun and Aoki look to continue pounding on Cubs pitching as the Brewers attempt to sweep this four-game set and extend their longest winning streak in the all-time series Thursday. Braun is a career...

OPS Fantasy Leagues: It’s Raining On Braun Night

Ryan Braun – Ryan Braun has been making it rain all season long. With 35 homers and nearly a 1.000 OPS to date, he’s definitely put the bomp in the Brewers offense. What’s more is that he’s been incredibly consistent on a monthly basis, as he’s posted no less than a .941 OPS all year. Of course, this is nothing new for Braun, who possesses a .940 career OPS. So can he keep...

Brewers aim for 8th straight victory over Cubs

The Milwaukee Brewers' surge has been aided by a pair of series against the lowly Chicago Cubs, and now an unexpected offensive source. Jeff Bianchi and the Brewers look to continue capitalizing on one of baseball's worst teams and extend their longest winning streak in the all-time series Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. Milwaukee (61-67) has won seven of eight, with...

Orioles Sign Randy Wolf

The Baltimore Orioles apparently have signed free-agent lefty and recent Brewer Randy Wolf.  It didn't take long for Wolf to find a new team.  Wolf will be pitching in the AL for the first time, although as of now it's unclear if he's joined Baltimore to fortify a young rotation or to help from the bullpen.  The Orioles were among the suspected suitors for Wolf in...

Marcum on waivers - let the chess match begin

The Milwaukee Brewers placed right-hander Shaun Marcum on trade waivers Tuesday, thinking strategically as the deadline for setting postseason rosters looms at midnight Friday ET. Marcum’s next start, Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs, will take place shortly after his waiver period expires that day at 1 p.m. ET. He has pitched only once since missing...

Brewers 3, Cubs 1

Mike Fiers tossed 7 1-3 solid innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday night, their eighth straight victory against Chicago. Fiers (8-6) held the Cubs to four hits and struck out six, helping Milwaukee beat its division rival for the 13th time in 16 games this season. The Brewers have won eight of their last nine overall and moved within five...

Report: Brewers' Marcum put on trade waivers

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Shaun Marcum has been placed on trade waivers on Tuesday, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. Marcum's next start was scheduled for Thursday in Chicago, but his waiver period expires at 1 p.m. ET that day, and if he were to be claimed in time, that may change. If another team were to lay claim to Marcum, that team and the Brewers would...
