Found March 01, 2013 on Reading Between The Seams:
In what seemed like an awkward marriage to begin with, New York Yankees fans in Tampa may have already turned on former Red Sox rival Kevin Youkilis.  And to think, the Yankees fans in Tampa are more the mild, retired type.  Might be a new record after only 4 hitless AB’s (hey, his OPS is .200 after a walk).  A team 1-7 start (7 straight losses) hasn’t helped the fan enthusiasm, but that’s what it’s about playing for the Yankees.  Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News Tweeted: There were some “Youk” cheers and some “boo” jeers Friday. What was Youkilis’ take on the crowd reaction?… — Mark Feinsand (@FeinsandNYDN) March 1, 2013 The article continues with Youkilis quoted: I struck out looking and a guy’s yelling at me. He’s just angry in life. That’s the bottom line. Of course Yankees fans love booing free agent busts (cue A-Rod), amazing the Bronx Bombers shelled out $12M for a guy who seldom plays more than 140 games and hasn’t hit over .260 since 2010.  And he’s not getting any younger.  Paging Brian Cashman, please pick up the white courtesy phone.  Mr. Steinbrenner on the line! -Dave (@lhd_on_sports) Follow us on Twitter @rbts_baseball The post Youkilis already drawing “boos” from Yankee faithful? appeared first on Reading Between The Seams.
