It was Kids Night at AT&T Park Tuesday.
Youngsters Brandon Belt (age 23) and Brandon Crawford (age 24) had monster games at the plate and Conor Gillaspie (age 24) hit an inside-the-parker as the Giants got behind a dominant Madison Bumgarner (age 22) to take down the Rockies in front of another sellout crowd on the shores of McCovey Cove.
Belt went 3-for-3 with two singles and his ninth home run of the year (and his first splash hit), while Crawford was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.
“Old-man” Brett Pill (age 27) pinch hit for Pablo Sandoval (age 25) and went 1-for-2 to raise his batting average to .304.
MadBum (13-13, 3.21) was filthy in his final start of the season, going seven strong innings and limiting the Rox to just two hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out nine.
San Francisco (86-75) will wrap up the 2011 season tomorrow afternoon with Matt Cain (12-11, 2.88) taking the hill.
