Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Jose Iglesias hasn't necessarily been shy about how much he wants to be on the big league roster. "I feel comfortable here," he said. "I feel really comfortable here." With Stephen Drew taking the day off to rest, Iglesias took the opportunity to shine, going 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored as the Sox rallied to beat the Indians 7-4. After starting the season with the with the parent club, he had been in Pawtucket since April, when Drew returned from a concussion. There were signs that he wasn't altogether happy about being there. He was benched earlier this month by PawSox manager Gary DiSarcina for not hustling down the line on a ground ball. But called back up on Friday with a Sox in a pinch after putting third baseman Will Middlebrooks on the disabled list, he could possibly be playing himself into a position as an extra infielder. "It's clear he's extremely confident and he believes in himself," Sox manager John Farrell said. "You see it in his actions, the way he carries himself. It's not in a disrespectful way. He is very sure of himself. We saw it as spring training unfolded. It was reinforced in the time he was here through the time he was here before Stephen [Drew] returned to us. He comes back to us again and he's a strong believer in himself and his abilities to play at this level." Globe: Jose Iglesias confident at big-league level Much like John Lackey, Jose Iglesias has yet to convince me that he is ready to be a consistent impact player on this roster. Jose has made some phenomenal progress at the plate over the past year, and I am very impressed. We have seen power incorporated in his offensive game, extra-base hits, and a bit more patience. Last night was a great sign that he has made a great deal of progress in Pawtucket and is nearly ready to be a big-league short stop. Remember, I said NEARLY ready. We will likely see a lot of Iglesias in Boston due to Stephen Drew constantly the family injury bug. I am still a huge Xander Bogaerts advocate, but if Iglesias can prove he can deliver at the plate, he will win my heart over. Jose has a far better glove, and is obviously far closer to being ready for a job in the majors. I am sure everyone else at Ted's Army is sick of me being the only guy giving Jose the thumbs down thus far.
