(AP Photo/LM Otero)Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I’ve pretty much done everything in this place,” he said. “I’ve pitched good here, I’ve been terrible here and pretty much everything in between.” He’s had a start where he struck out 12 Rangers in six innings. He had a start where he gave up nine runs and didn’t last five innings. Then, there was 2009, when his entire start consisted of two pitches. The first went behind Rangers’ leadoff hitter Ian Kinsler, and the second hit him in the left side. “I got knocked out for a different reason,” Lackey joked. “I got asked to leave.” Globe: John Lackey's struggles in Texas continue Ok, so, John Lackey didn't necessarily get "beat down" by the Rangers, but it was a loss. Lackey certainly wasn't his surprising self as he was in his last outing. Also, in his defense, he didn't get any run support, as the Rangers silenced the Sox bats again. There should be no concern regarding Lackey's outing, or the Sox lack of offense. Giving up 3 runs, on 6 hits and walking 3 over a 5 inning span isn't the worst we have seen from John Lackey. Two games combining for 1 run of offense is not unheard of. Texas is a very good team with a very good pitching staff, and have done a very good job containing the Sox' bats. The Rangers have the upper hand in today's pitching match-up, so don't be surprised if the Sox get swept. On Page 2, Andrew Bailey will be examined on Monday Red Sox manager John Farrell said before batting practice on Saturday that Andrew Bailey would be   available for the game. That changed an hour later after Bailey did some throwing. The righthander felt continued discomfort in his bicep and was not cleared to pitch. A team doctor will    examine Bailey on Monday in Boston. He has not pitched since last Sunday. Bailey was concerned that after feeling good on Friday, there was more discomfort. “I went out, and played catch normally and I guess it's not ready yet," Bailey said after a 5-1 loss    against the Rangers. "I'm very frustrated, got a lot of different notions. Just have to wake up tomorrow    and see how it goes. “Yesterday it was good, and we wanted to give it another day to make sure and today, it just wasn't    ready." Globe: Red Sox will get Bailey examined on Monday Anyone surprised that Bailey is hurt? Makes the Hanrahan deal a little clearer. The rest of the links: Globe: Rangers clinch series over Red Sox with 5-1 win | Red Sox reverse course on closer Andrew Bailey | Rangers shut down punchless Red Sox again | Pedroia: 'Everything is going to be OK' | ESPN Boston: Rapid Reaction Rangers 5, Red Sox 1 | Sox won't panic despite quiet bats | WEEI: Andrew Bailey 'very frustrated' with unexpected setback | Closing Time: Red Sox bats remain silent in loss to Rangers | Herald: Jackie Bradley has no doubt he'll be back | Bailey takes another day |
