Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. By now, it’s bordering on the absurd. All season, the Red Sox have made a habit of ninth-inning comebacks and walkoff dramatics at Fenway Park. But even they had no business doing what they did in the ninth last night. Facing a five-run deficit that wasn’t greater only by the grace of left fielder Jonny Gomes’ barreling catch that rattled the Green Monster’s metal scoreboard to end the eighth, the Sox rode six hits, three walks and a little luck to an 8-7 victory over the shell-shocked Mariners that was punctuated by Daniel Nava’s game-winning single to deep center field. It was the Sox’ 11th walkoff win — and far and away, their most improbable. How best to describe what happened here? “In a word,” manager John Farrell said, “magical.” Herald: Sox score six times in 9th to shock Seattle again The word beings tossed around last night and this morning is "magical" in reaction to last night's epic comeback. Down 7-2 in the 9th, the Red Sox stormed back and tied it up. Eventually, they closed it out in the 11th, adding yet another walk-off win to their tally. I'll give you an alternate word: "Contender". Some are still skeptical. I know one radio show that may chalk this one to saying "Hey, it's great and all...but they're the Mariners. Call me when it's the Tigers". For me personally, I'm still concerned about this lineup versus playoff pitchers like Price, Verlander, etc. When you have several contributors like Gomes, Nava, and Holt all doing their part in clutch moments, you can't help but think this team is destined for good things in October.  Enjoy the ride folks. It's going to be a "magical" Fall.  Rest of the links:  Globe: Jonny Gomes makes big contributions to another Red Sox walkoff win | Globe: Competitiveness drives Jake Peavy | Globe: Drake Britton shines in a new roll for Red Sox | Herald: Top quality pitchers shutting down Red Sox | Herald: Daniel Nava's total redemption | Herald: Ryan Dempster Disappoints | Herald: Jake Peavy relieved when trade finally complete
