Yu Darvish pitched 8 2/3 perfect innings against the Houston Astros last night, striking out 14 batters.  Earlier yesterday afternoon, Keith tweeted this:Yu Darvish might strike out 10-15 #Astros tonight! #Rangers— Keith Lott (@WeTlkFntsySprts) April 2, 2013I literally want to throw up. Darvish was lights out and got the first 2 outs of the 9th in just 3 pitches. Marwin Gonzalez saw a first pitch fastball and smoked it up the middle for a base hit, ending Yu Darvish's perfect game. All in all it was a good sign for the Rangers and fantasy owners as he will be dominating lineups all year and should end up with over 200 K's this season. At the top of the Rangers lineup, Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus and Lance Berkman went a combined 8-12 with 3 walks, 2 triples (both from Andrus), a home run (Kinsler), 5 RBI and 3 runs scored.R.A. Dickey did not look like a Cy Young award winner in his first start with the Tornoto Blue Jays as he took an L in a 4-1 Indians win. Dickey went 6 innings giving up 5 hits, 4 walks and 4 runs. J.P. Arencibia had a rough night behind the plate trying to catch the knuckleballer as Dickey had 3 passed balls and a wild pitch. The Blue Jays offense only had 4 hits.Justin Masterson was solid as he got the win, going 6 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5.Asdrubal Cabrera put the game away with his 2-run home run in the 5th, giving the Indians a 3 run lead.Every Orioles player had a hit except for Steve Pearce who went 0-4 with 2 K's.Adam Jones went 3-5 with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Matt Wieters filled up the stat sheet going 2-3 with a home run, a double, 2 runs, 2 RBI, and 2 walks.Chris Davis put the nail in the coffin with his 3-run home run in the 7th inning off of Jake McGee.  It's a good sign that Davis hit that home run off a lefty.David Price did not factor in the loss and he really settled down after giving up a 1st inning 2-run homer to Wieters.  He finished the game with 6 innings pitched, 7 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and 4 strike outs.Desmond Jennings went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.Ben Zobrist hit a solo home run in the 4th getting the Rays on the board and his sac fly in the 6th gave the Rays a 3-2 lead.Colorado Rockies fans have to be excited after seeing both Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez homer in each of the first 2 games of the season. Tulowitzki hit a solo shot in the 3rd and Gonzalez hit a 2-run homer in the 5th.Josh Rutledge, Todd Helton and Chris Nelson all had 2 singles and at least 1 RBI. Michael Cuddyer went 3-5 with 3 singles, a run scored and an RBI.Luckily the Rockies offense put up 14 hits and scored 8 runs because they got an awful start out of Jorge De La Rosa. De La Rosa lasted just 4 1/3 innings as he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs. Edgmer Escalona, Matt Belisle, Rex Brothers and Rafael Betancourt were terrific out of the bullpen going a combined 4 2/3 shutout innings allowing just 4 hits and a walk.Marco Estrada has some really good stuff as he was able to strike out 8 batters in 5 innings but the long ball is his Achilles heel and it burned him against the Rockies as he gave up the two long balls and 4 runs.Ryan Braun blasted a 2-run homer in the 3rd which was his first of many to come this year.Jaime Garcia threw 5 2/3 innings allowing just 2 hits and a run to get the win for the Cardinals over the Diamondbacks 6-1.Miguel Montero produced the lone run for the Diamondbacks with a solo blast in the 2nd inning. He also added a single, as did Gerardo Parra. The rest of the team went 0-24.Trevor Cahill pitched pretty well even though he got the loss. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs while striking out 7. He fell apart in the 6th when he hit Jon Jay to start the inning and then allowed a 2-run homer off the bat of Matt Holliday.Pete Kozma and Jon Jay both went yard off of Heath Bell in the 7th, putting the game out of reach, making it 6-1. Bell lasted just a 1/3 of an inning giving up 3 runs, on 4 hits including the 2 home runs and walked a batter. His ERA to start the year is now at 81.00.Madison Bumgarner was brilliant pitching 8 shutout innings against the Dodgers allowing just 2 hits, walking none and striking out 8.Angel Pagan, Hunter Pence and Joaquin Arias all had 2 hits. All in all the Giants had 10 hits as a team, all 10 were singles.Justin Sellers had 2 throwing errors in the 7th inning which allowed 2 runs to score, making the game 3-0.Hyun-Jin Ryu made his MLB debut and allowed 10 hits and 3 runs (1 earned) over 6 1/3 innings. He didn't walk anyone and struck out 5.Andre Ethier and A.J. Ellis had the only 2 hits for the Dodgers, both were doubles.Hisashi Iwakuma did his best impersination of Felix Hernandez from Monday night. Iwakuma threw 6 strong innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 run while walking none and striking out 7.Michael Morse showed off his power as he jacked 2 home runs and had 4 RBI.Kyle Seager reached base all 5 times up as he went 3-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, an RBI and 2 walks.Jarrod Parker was not impressive at all in his 5 innings of work as he allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs while only striking out 1 batter.Yoenis Cespedes had 1 of the Athletics 3 hits, which was a solo blast in the 2nd inning. It was the only run the A's scored in the 8-1 loss to the Mariners.
