Carlos Zambrano is widely regarded as one of the biggest douchebags in MLB. Friday night some Karmic retribution happened in Venezuela where the troubled Chicago Cubs starting pitcher was hurling the ball towards a batter when said ball was struck back towards him, nailing him in the face. The injury required 18 stitches to the side of his mouth and he has to sit out of games for at least a week until a doctor clears him to resume activity. Cubs fans are hoping this shot to the dome hopefully has knocked some sense into the hair-trigger tempered Zambrano.*gif borrowed from SB Nation Chicago

5 Players the Chicago Cubs Should Target This Winter
What are the Chicago Cubs going to do this winter- that is the question. Theo Epstein has one heck of a task in front of him as the Cubs supply one of the worst MLB rosters in baseball- but have some nice talent in the system. With the hire of Dale Sveum, I am now convinced the Cubs will not be going in a long term rebuilding stage. I do think they are going to be active in free...
Carlos Zambrano hit in face by line drive
Pitcher Carlos Zambrano, who’s trying to earn his way back to the Cubs for the final year of his contract, needed 16 stitches after being hit in the face by a line drive during his start Friday in a Venezuelan winter league game. The drive was deflected slightly by Zambrano’s glove before striking him just below and to the right of his mouth. The Cubs say they’ve heard Zambrano...
Is Tyler Colvin Going to be Traded To the Boston Red Sox?
Tyler Colvin is rumored to be the player going to the Boston Red Sox as compensation for Theo Epstein. That would be the greatest thing of all time, as Tyler Colvin isn’t going to be a guy the Cubs were hoping he would be, and with the Cubs having a ton of talent in their outfield throughout the minor leagues- I don’t think anyone will miss Colvin.
Theo Epstein was worth...
Free Agent Stock Watch: Aramis Ramirez
Aramis Ramirez's free agency seemingly came at a great time. Â 2011 was his healthiest season since '08, and he bounced back offensively to win the National League's Silver Slugger award at third base. Â Also to his benefit: he's the only free agent third baseman likely to be viewed as a starter at the position.
The occasional trip to the disabled list had never...
How Good is Matt Garza?
The Cubs need to prioritize. As a struggling franchise, they need to significantly overhaul their roster and farm system. A possible trade chip, as Buster Olney wrote last monday, is Matt Garza. This year was excellent for Garza; to highlight a few of his achievements, he posted career bests in WAR, FIP-, and xFIP-.
Much of his success can be traced to an improved strikeout rate...
