GAME 8 - MARINERS AT ANGELS
ANAHEIM -- If the Angels wanted to make a statement, they
picked a bad time to come down with a case of laryngitis.
With the defending American League West champion Seattle
Mariners in town for a four-game series, the Angels figured it would be a good
way to see how they stacked...
Aaron Sele And Other Hall Of Fame Thoughts
Oh boy. So much Hall of Fame stuff to talk about, so little time. I am not sure I have the time, or space , to fully extrapolate on all of my Hall of Fame thoughts right now, but I will do my best to get to some main points. I am not even sure I know where to start? Or end, for that matter. So my apologies if my stream of consciousness goes on tangents that are hard to follow...
The New York Times went with a blank page for its coverage of the Baseball Hall of Fame vote
As you already know, no one was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for 2013. So that left those in the media with options on how they would cover the vote.
Some are focusing on the story-lines surrounding Bonds and Clemens. And some are busy trying to figure out who voted for Aaron Sele.
As for the New York Times, they decided to cover the vote in a more creative manner.
And the...
MMO Short Shots: Snubbings, Drubbings, And Aaron Sele
Check out this cool sketch from the very talented Chris Panetta who runs the popular Mets In Stitches. If you love these art blog posts like I do, I suggest you add this site to your favorites. A picture really is worth a thousand words. If I had his talent I would have sketched the gates of Cooperstown with a sign saying “Do Not Enter – By order of the BBWAA” . Anyway go check...
No Players Were Selected For Induction Into The Hall Of Fame
For the first time since 1996 and the second time in four decades, there weren’t any baseball players that were selected for induction into the Hall of Fame, says the Chicago Tribune.
Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Roger Clemens faced a jury Wednesday, and the jury decided that they weren’t worthy enough to be in the Hall of Fame. The reasoning behind that is pretty obvious ...
No one selected for the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013
As many expected, in the first year marked by a significant number of PED users (or suspects), no players were selected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The top vote-getter was Craig Biggio, the slap-hitting model of consistency (and longevity) from the Houston Astros. Biggio got 68% of the vote, so I would say it's likely he will get in on future ballots (given that some voters...
Cooperstown Choices: Aaron Sele
With the Hall Of Fame election announcement coming on January 9, 2013, it is time to review the ballot, go over the names, and decide who belongs in the Hall Of Fame.
There are twenty four men on the ballot for the first time this year and we will take a look at each one individually prior to official announcements. You can find all of the profiles in the I-70 Baseball Exclusives...
Updated Top 50 Rangers All-Time List
This week I will post an updated version of my Top 50 All-Time Rangers List, which I had done at the end of the 2009 season and updated after the 2010 season. Below you will find my new list, along with where those players were previously. Below the list is my reasoning for players that moved up on the list. 1. Ivan Rodriguez: 5754 AB, .305 AVG, 217 HR, 842 RBI, 1,747 career Rangers...
