Catcher Carlos Maldonado has been designated for assignment by the Washington Nationals to create room for the recently acquired Kurt Suzuki reports Bill Ladson of MLB.com. The Nationals have re-signed catcher Carlos Maldonado, according to Bill Ladson of MLB.com (via Twitter).  The move was first reported by El Universal (Spanish link).
