Mets shuffle bullpen: Egbert promoted, Carson demoted, Carrasco released
The New York Mets came out with a flurry of bullpen moves Friday afternoon, announcing several changes that will have an immediate effect on the big league club. For starters, Robert Carson‘s stay with the Mets has been short lived as the lefty was sent back to Triple-A. As Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reported, Jack Egbert will take Carson’s roster spot:

Mejia Could Be What The Mets Need In The Bullpen
Let’s face it, D.J. Carrasco was gone before Todd Frazier’s home run landed. Carrasco was designated for assignment after Wednesday night’s bullpen meltdown, the perpetrators being Jon Rauch and Carrasco. The victim, not surprisingly, was Johan Santana.
Sandy Alderson met with reporters on Thursday and discussed the state of the bullpen.
“The bullpen has been a frustration...

Carrasco DFA, Carson up; message Wright's team...
Photo by Michael BaronMets designated D.J. Carrasco for assignment last night, Carrasco's entire tenure as a Met was ineffective and he really should have been cut this winter. The Mets signed the reliever prior to the 2011 season after three successful years with the White Sox, Pirates and D-Backs. Originally the 2.4 M deal for 2years made sense, he was a versatile reliever...

Change Is Coming: Carrasco DFA’d, Carson Likely
After another loss from ineffective bullpen pitching, the Mets desginated DJ Carrasco for assignment after last night’s game. When the Mets were winning a ton of games in a row, the bullpen was acting as well oiled machine. However, sandwiching that streak was two bouts (and we are still in the second one) of a rather rocky bullpen.
There are several players that Mets Fans...

Mets designate struggling Carrasco for assignment
D.J. Carrasco thought about the question and acknowledged it was fair to wonder. But after giving up his second home run in as many nights, he thought the New York Mets designated him for assignment following Wednesday's game due to his performance, rather than any lingering feelings from Tuesday night's incident against the Milwaukee Brewers. "I don't think...

Carrasco designated for assignment, Robert Carson recalled
It’s hard to take anything good away from the New York Mets loss on Wednesday night, but if you were looking for a silver lining, the fact that we may have finally seen the last of D.J. Carrasco would be a good place to start. After giving up a 2-run homer to Todd Frazier in the 8th inning of yesterday’s loss to the Cincinnati Reds, Terry Collins and company had apparently...

Mets Relief Pitcher DJ Carrasco Designated For Assignment
D.J. Carrasco was already on thin ice with the New York Mets after precipitating drama the night before with a hit by pitch that lead to his ejection.
When he gave up a two-run homer to Todd Frazier with his first pitch on Wednesday night, that might have been the last straw for one of the most struggling pitchers in a struggling bullpen. The 35-year-old right-hander was designated...

D.J. Carrasco called up; Bobby Parnell drawing interest
Well the Mets ended their four game losing streak last night with Johan Santana on the mound. He gave them seven solid innings of work, and the bullpen managed not to blow the lead in their two innings of work.
The Mets are 14-13 this year despite having one of the worst team ERA’s in the league. They are currently ranked 24th in the league with a 4.48 team ERA. Their starter’s...

Andres Torres and D.J. Carrasco began their rehab assignments on Monday night with Class A St. Lucie.
Torres suffered a strained left calf on Opening Day. Carrasco sprained his right ankle during spring training.
