NEW YORK (AP) Former major league manager Jerry Manuel is taking on an increased role with Major League Baseball's on-field diversity task force.
Former Mets and White Sox manager Jerry Manuel is taking on a new challenge helping build a college program near where he grew up in Northern California.
William Jessup University, a private four-year college in the Sacramento area, announced Wednesday that it's starting a baseball team and Manuel will help launch the program in a director of baseball operations role.
