Atlanta Braves: More of the Same Insanity
Maybe I am a pessimist. Maybe I am cynical. Maybe it is too close to the collapse that kept the Atlanta Braves out of the playoffs last season. Maybe our poor start to Spring Training made me a little nervous. Whatever you think may be going through my mind, today’s loss to the hapless New York Mets does nothing but increase my uneasiness.
I posted a Rant a couple days...

The Atlanta Braves Finalize Roster. Somehow Jose Constanza Makes Team
I honestly do not know why I am surprised by some of the moves that the Atlanta Braves make sometimes. They announced their 25 man roster today and there was a surprise, to say the least. What was expected was Tyler Pastornicky, Randall Delgado, and Yohan Flande to make the team. Pastornicky seperated himself over the final two weeks of the Spring. Delgado struggled at times...

Braves' outfield battle comes down to three
Jose Constanza helped energize the Braves last August with his ability to reach base and his speed. His performance appeared to give him a head start on making the team in 2012.
But Constanza has struggled this spring, leaving room for two other backup outfielders Jordan Parraz and Luis Durango to play their way into the race for a spot on the opening day roster.

Battle for final roster spot heats up

2012 player preview: Luis Durango
The Braves signed Luis Durango this offseason as a minor league free agent, and invited him to spring camp. Looking at Durango's skills overall, he reminds me a lot of someone else that will be in camp, but on the 40-man roster: Jose Constanza. Durango has gotten brief cups of coffee in the majors over the last three seasons with the Padres and Astros, and has really only shown...

2012 player preview: Jose Constanza
Jose Constanza is a very polarizing figure among Braves fans. Some erroneously believe that he should have gotten more playing time down the stretch. Some correctly believe that all he can be is an extra outfielder due to his good speed and little else in his game. Constanza will go into camp competing for the fifth outfielder slot (yes, fifth outfielder....remember, Matt Diaz and...
