In the month of July, Cubs office men Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer were very busy people, trading away five players from their major league roster during that time. Though they were rumored to possibly deal as many as six or seven others, no trades were made on deadline day.
The month started off with the Cubs making a series of moves. They sent starting pitcher Scott Feldman and catcher...
Matt Guerrier is a few people's favorite Cub. "How could this be possible?", you may ask. Well, his presence on the team means Carlos Marmol's presence isn't. That's a win for many people who just wanted Marmol and his $9.8 million contract out of Chicago. Honestly, I don't really mind if players are overpaid (I care only from the abstract payroll sense...
For all those fans who thought lightning would strike twice with Luis Cruz, I get the privilege of saying I told you so. The Dodgers officially announce that Luis Cruz and Matt Guerrier have been designated for assignment.
Guerrier hasn’t been the pitcher he once was over the last couple seasons. He came to the Dodgers as a free agent in the of 2010, but ultimately he has been...
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Matt Guerrier exited last
night’s contest against the San Diego Padres after taking a line drive off the
thumb of his throwing hand. X-rays taken came back negative, but there was a
bit of swelling in Guerrier’s thumb, according to Eric Stephen of Tru Blue LA.
While he was relieved that his thumb isn’t broken, Guerrier
If you hadn’t seen it yet, then … that happened.
Then Mike Petriello tweeted out this:

And I think he’s on to something.
Matt Guerrier is recovering well after being placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 24th with right elbow tendinitis. Guerrier is eligible to come off the disabled list on May 4th, but so far there is no timetable on his return. My best guess is that we will see Guerrier return to action some time in the early to mid part of May barring there are no setbacks.
With yet another curiously timed injury to a bullpen arm, this time Matt Guerrier, the Dodgers have managed to avoid making a bullpen decision for at least 15 more days. Dodgers reliever Matt Guerrier, signed in part to be the bullpen workhorse, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday because of right elbow flexor
The Los Angeles Dodgers' bullpen received a shake-up Tuesday when Matt Guerrier was placed on the disabled list due to right elbow tendinitis. Because Guerrier hadn't pitched since April 18, the move was made retroactive April 19. To take Guerrier's place on the roster, the Dodgers recalled left-hander Michael Antonini from Class AAA Albuquerque. Antonini, 26, was...
Matt Guerrier was barking, so the Dodgers placed him on the disabled list. Whoops sorry Manager Don Mattingly said Guerriers elbow was barking, so they put him on the DL.
Guerrier actually had been pitching pretty well, at least for someone who the Dodgers said had elbow tendinitis severe enough to be placed on the disabled list Tuesday.
The Dodgers filled his spot on the roster...
