Fiers On Fire, Burns Dodgers

Mike Fiers threw the first Astros no-hitter by a single pitcher in over 20 years last night and the very first no-no in Minute Maid Park to make his way into the Houston record books, alongside Houston greats such as Beyonce, Dennis Quaid....uh, Rory Gilmore...did I say, Beyonce already? Anyway, even more impressive, the 30-year old Fiers did it against one of the leagues top offenses...

Mike Fiers throws no-hitter against the Dodgers

On Friday night, Houston Astros starter Mike Fiers threw the fifth no-hitter of the 2015 season, blanking the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0. Fiers struck out ten, walked three, and threw 134 pitches during the no-hitter. This is Houston’s first since a combined no-hitter at Yankee Stadium in 2003 and the first by a single pitcher for the Astros since the late Darryl Kile in 1993....

Adrian Beltre homers to complete cycle, gets head assaulted

Adrian Beltre became just the fourth player in baseball history to hit three cycles in his career on Monday night – and he completed his cycle in the fifth inning with a home run off of new Astros pitcher Mike Fiers. After homering, his teammates (and *especially* Elvis Andrus, as usual) removed his helmet and mauled poor Beltre’s head. Beltre’s reaction here is amazing. From...

Astros swoop in on Carlos Gomez, add Mike Fiers for four prospects

Looks like Carlos Gomez will be traded after all, as the Houston Astros opened up their very deep well of top-flight prospects to complete a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for Gomez and starter Mike Fiers. Going to Milwaukee in the deal are outfielders Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana along with pitchers Josh Hader and Adrian Houser. Jon Heyman first reported the trade with Ken...

Astros acquire Carlos Gomez from Brewers

This might actually be safe to report. After all the drama surrounding a potential Carlos Gomez trade from the Milwaukee Brewers to the New York Mets on Wednesday evening, it appears that Milwaukee has finally found a landing spot for the two-time All-Star outfielder. According to CBS Sports insider Jon Heyman, Gomez has been traded along with starter Mike Fiers to the Houston Astros...

Milwaukee Brewers trade rumors: Mike Fiers edition

When I initially planned to compose this article, it was going to be to put this rumor to rest. Milwaukee Brewers writer, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, stated this week that many teams have expressed interest in starting pitcher Mike Fiers; however, all of these teams had been told that the Brewers are not interested in marketing Fiers to the rest of the league...

Giancarlo Stanton hit in face by pitch, suffers laceration, fractures, dental damage (vid/pics)

A frightening scene played out at the ballpark on Thursday night, a scene that no one ever wants to see during a game, not matter where one’s particular baseball allegiances lie. Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, MLB leader in RBI with 105 and NL-leading 37 home runs, was struck in the face by a pitch […] The post Giancarlo Stanton hit in face by pitch, suffers laceration...

Mike Fiers takes to Twitter to apologize to Giancarlo Stanton

Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is having, arguably, his best season as a big leaguer and after one errant pitch…it’s likely done. Down 4-0 to the Milwaukee Brewers, the 24-year-old MVP candidate took an 88 mile per hour Mike Fiers fastball to the face and, according to the Miami Herald, suffered “multiple facial fractures”, “dental damage” and a “facial...

This Guy Is On Fiers….This Guy Is On Fiers…

Low voice, "Wow." Digs ditch, steps down, "Wow." Need more emphasis. Buys a mini-excavator, consults with architects about installing a down escalator, begins construction, gets behind on schedule, fires a guy that smokes more than he digs, hires a foreman that seems like he knows what he's doing, foreman runs off with money, tracks foreman down in Aruba hanging out with Andruw...

Fantasy baseball go add Mike Fiers: Let’s hope it’s not too late!

Honestly, let’s hope it’s not too late to add Mike Fiers to the Fantasy Baseball squad. I know I’m too late on this video, but to be fair…I did mention Fiers would not only make a great stream option Thursday, but that he would make for a solid addition down the stretch. As a rookie in 2012, Fiers had a 9-10 record with a 3.14 ERA in 22 starts (127 IP). He was striking out...
