Cubs activate reliever Ramirez from bereavement list

CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Cubs have activated reliever Neil Ramirez from the bereavement list and optioned right-hander Spencer Patton to Triple-A Iowa. The Cubs announced the moves before Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. The right-handed Ramirez began the day with a 4.50 ERA in six appearances. Patton made one appearance for the Cubs.
