Mets Minors: Dropped Popup Opens Door for B-Mets 2-1 Victory
The Binghamton Mets scored the game-winning run without the aid of a hit and the bullpen provided four shutout innings of relief in a 2-1 victory over the Akron Aeros Friday night at Canal Park.
With the game tied and the bases loaded on two walks and a hit batsman in the top of the seventh, Wilfredo Tovar lifted a weak popup behind first base. Jose Ramirez raced over from second...
HYPE files: Matt Den Dekker
Why the hype?
Matt Den Dekker, OF: Like Wilfredo Tovar, Matt Den Dekker is a prospect that divides a fan base. Matt Den Dekker has the best outfield glove in the Mets organization and that is including the major league team. If Den Dekker ever gets the chance to start for a major league team, there is a high possibility that he would win a gold glove. With that said, his hitting...

The regular season is over for all three upper minors teams. That means no more baseball for the Bisons and B-Mets, and a best-of-three divisional series for the St. Lucie team. Let’s take a look at who finished up the season strong, and who didn’t.
Who’s Hot!!!

HYPE files: Wilfredo Tovar
Why the hype?
Wilfredo Tovar, SS: Tovar is the type of prospect that divides minor league followers. Some think he will be a great defensive shortstop who will hit enough to play every day while some think he will be a great defensive shortstop and that is it. At least most everyone will agree his defense could be gold glove caliber one day which is why he is regarded as a legit...
Gavin Cecchini and the Mets’ draft picks in the first 15 rounds
Round 1: Gavin Cecchini – There are quite a few Met fans who are angry with this decision. The Mets could have gone after Hawkins or Giolito… but I think that Gavin actually fits pretty well into the Met’s farm system. Obviously, the Mets are not gifted with a plethora of SS options in their minors (the draft will prove this point) as Ruben Tejada is the MLB short-stop...
