Dana White announced this weekend that featherweight champ Jose Aldo refused to fight number one lightweight contender Anthony Pettis after the bout was already announced.  Dana gave a not so subtle warning to Aldo through the media saying Aldo will take this fight or not be happy with the consequences.  Aldo stated that he did not feel Pettis deserved the title fight and it should go to fellow featherweight competitors like Ricardo Lamas or Cub Swanson who have put together impressive win streaks in the division.  According to Brazilian media Tateme the UFC increased the deal granting Aldo an immediate title fight at lightweight if he beats Pettis later this year.  Hard not to feel for guys like Swanson and Lamas who could have to wait even longer for a title shot now but Aldo is on the verge of super stardom and he needs mega fights to get there.  Thanks to MMA Fighting for the scope. Dana White Clarifies Championship Futures for Anthony Pettis and Jose Aldo

While Anthony Pettis (Pictured) won’t challenge UFC featherweight king Jose Aldo for his crown for another six months, the highly-anticipated shootout is doing its best to hoard the MMA headlines. On Saturday, UFC President Dana White claimed Aldo refused to fight Pettis because he didn’t feel the lightweight top contender warranted a shot at his throne. Fast forward just two...

Jose Aldo says no to farce UFC title fight

Jose Aldo has become my new favorite UFC fighter. After months of ridiculous UFC championship fights Aldo has become the first fighter to put an end to this farce and Dana White is not a happy man.

Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis Will Go On As Planned

Just two days after UFC President Dana White claimed Jose Aldo refused to defend his featherweight crown against an “undeserving” Anthony Pettis (Pictured), White announced Monday evening the shootout will in fact go on as planned. “Aldo vs Pettis is ON!!!!!” White tweeted. White didn’t report why Aldo did an about-face. The 145-pound scrap takes place August 3rd at a yet...

Champ Jose Aldo Promised UFC Lightweight Title Fight with Win Over Anthony Pettis

Clearly, the UFC’s new Fighter Rankings mean absolutely nothing. Apparently, the best way to earn a title shot isn’t to score a top spot in the media-voted polls, but to win a pivotal scrap in a different division. Anthony Pettis was granted next dibs at the lightweight crown after trouncing Donald Cerrone at UFC 156. However, instead of waiting to face the victor of the April...

White On Aldo Refusing To Fight Pettis

“Jose Aldo came out and said, ‘There’s no way in hell I’m fighting (Anthony Pettis).’ He’s absolutely refusing to fight Pettis — doesn’t think he deserves the shot. Andre Pederneiras was in England and he sat down with me and Lorenzo (Fertitta) and was like, ‘We don’t think he deserves it.’ “What do you mean [...]

Just days ago at a post UFC 157 media scrum company President Dana White revealed to us that featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo was flat out refusing to fight top lightweight contender Anthony Pettis. Biggest take away from this video is Dana announcing Jose Aldo refuses to fight Anthony Pettis.  The boss did not seem very happy about this and it seems pretty safe to say Jose will change his tune.  Thanks to MMA Heat for the video. Dana White Fan Friendly Watch all fighter video blogs on
