It was only a matter of time.  Word around the campfire has been that UFC champion Ronda Rousey's first foray into the land of pay-per-view was a success. It appears that the magic number could be well over 400,000. By comparison, Jon Jones' pay-per-view debut scored just under 500,000 buys. The light heavyweight wunderkind had already headlined two shows on free tv for the promotion prior to his UFC 128 headlining stint against 'Shogun' Rua.

Now that Rousey has become a media darling with all of the magazine covers and the television specials heading into UFC 157 it's only natural that Hollywood would come calling. The same thing happened with Gina Carano and we haven't seen her back in the cage since. MMA and pro-wrestling insider Dave Meltzer reported on today's edition of Wrestling Observer radio that Rousey has been asked to join the cast of the next Hunger Games film, Mockingjay, the first of two films to close out the series.  So not only has "Rowdy" been called upon by Dana White and the Fertitta brothers to help carry a division for their billion-dollar industry, she's now being tapped to help out Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in their dystopian madness.

Meltzer via Bloody Elbow: Actually, the reality is that it was probably ... there was a very good chance that the promotion of Rousey was TOO successful because she's been offered a role in the next...whatever it is...the next Hunger Games movie that they're going to film. And once that happens it's like...you know, who knows? The NY Post reports that sources close to Rousey confirm that there has been plenty of interest in the athlete in regards to films, but her focus remains on fighting at this time.

Would a role alongside newly minted Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence change her mind?   So how about you guys? Would you rather see Rousey continue fighting or make the move to the silver screen? Or do you think their is a possibility she can do both and remain a champion? Regardless, WAR Haymitch Abernathy.
