A bantamweight clash pitting
Cody
Stamann against former Ares Fighting Championship bantamweight
champion
Taylor
Lapilus
has been added to the
UFC
Fight Night event set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas on June 8.
The bout was first announced by Stamann's management, Iridium
Sports Agency, on
X (formerly known as Twitter).
Stamann (21-6), will enter the Octagon on the heels of a unanimous
decision loss to
Douglas
Silva de Andrade in May last year. The loss snapped the
American's two-fight winning streak that saw him bounce back from
consecutive losses to
Said
Nurmagomedov,
Merab
Dvalishvili and
Jimmie
Rivera.
Meanwhile, Lapilus (19-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss
to
Farid
Basharat at
UFC Fight Night 234 after making a successful return to the
promotion with a unanimous decision win over
Caolan
Loughran in September 2023. Prior to re-joining the Las
Vegas-based promotion, the Frenchman racked up a five-fight winning
streak while competing for
Ares Fighting Championship and
TKO
Major League MMA .
The fight night event will also feature a middleweight clash
between
Julian
Marquez and
Zachary
Reese and a strawweight meeting pitting
Eduarda
Moura against
Denise
Gomes.
