Benson Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis is a rematch nearly three years in the making. And guess what? It's one that people actually want. Last time these two fought it was on free TV (remember Versus) in what would be the final fight in World Extreme Cagefighting history. It was a fight that would grant the winner an immediate title shot in the UFC. The winner was Anthony Pettis. And 989 days later he'll get that shot against the man he beat for it initially - who just happens to now be a 3-time defending UFC champion. Strange how that works, huh? Harley-Davidson will be celebrating it's 110th anniversary with the UFC as this 164th numbered event has been aptly titled as the 'Harley-Davidson Hometown Throwdown'. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the hometown of Harley and the UFC is proud to celebrate their relationship with the only motorcycle worthy of being inside the octagon. Also of note - the last time Henderson and Pettis did this dance it was a Hometown Throwdown as well. Fans were able to vote on multiple cities in a contest headed up by the folks at AMP Energy to declare where WEC 53 would be held. Thanks to hometown hero Benson Henderson, Glendale, Arizona's Jobing.com Arena would win the contest. This time around, Anthony Pettis will be the hometown hero when the lights dim inside of Milwaukee's Bradley Center. Suddenly our wait of nearly 1,000 days for this rematch seems to be the type of fate that makes for a rivalry we'll be talking about for years to come.
