On Saturday, UFC 161 or “The One Without The Bantamweight Title Fight”, as I like to call it, will come to us live from Winnipeg, Manitoba at 10 PM ET on the ol’ Pay-Per-View. As always, we’ll be dishing and serving our own brand of MMA HOTT GOSS in one of our award-winning With Leather Live Discussions (go ahead and bookmark it right here). Perhaps the hottest topic of all come Saturday will be the fate of 36-year old heavyweight Roy Nelson, whose contract expires after his fight against “Michael” Stipe Miocic.Since winning the Ultimate Fighter 10 tournament and earning Knockout of the Night honors in the process on December 5, 2009, Big Country has been 6-3 in UFC action, which has helped elevate him to No. 5 on the UFC Heavyweight rankings. He has also become quite the fan favorite, which is why it’s so strange that UFC President Dana White stuck him in this fight with a scrub instead of a contender.Basically, Nelson and White aren’t quite seeing eye to eye when it comes to dolla...

We’re just two days away from the UFC 161 Pay-Per-View event, live from Winnipeg, Manitoba, as the struggling UFC Bantamweight division has left us without a title fight, and instead with a co-main event that features Rashad Evans taking on Dan Henderson and “Big Country” Roy Nelson facing “Michael” Stipe Miocic. As we mentioned yesterday, the biggest news involving UFC...
"There's a lot of people that look like Roy Nelson, but there's not a people that fight like Roy 'Big Country' Nelson."--Joe Rogan
After a brutalizing decision loss to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 143, Roy Nelson has been on a tear. With three straight Round-1 knockouts over Dave Herman, Matt Mitrione, and Cheick Kongo, the portly powerhouse is poised to offer...
Big Country hangs out with his son before he leaves for Winnipeg to take on fellow heavyweight Stipe Miocic at UFC 161. This will be Nelson’s final fight under his present contract with the UFC and it will be interesting to see what happens in negotiations once this fight is over.

Roy Nelson is fulfilling his media obligations for UFC 161, an event that he claims to have single handedly saved. I don’t know about you guys but I’m not all that excited to see him and Stipe Miocic fight.

Big Country Nelson is just days away from his final fight on his current UFC contract but even with all of the work that comes when you are the co main event on a PPV fight he still finds time to snap a pic with a fan.

Roy Nelson with Little Country
It has been a long time since we as UFC fans have had to complain about the curse of the injury bug affecting UFC cards. It appears as though that may be changing as the UFC kicks it into high gear for the summer.

Card subject to change - It's a disclaimer everyone knows about but hopes won't apply to them. Unfortunately in MMA it's more of a probability than a disclaimer these days especially, it seems, if it's a Pay-Per-View card in Canada. Take UFC 149 in Alberta for example. It went from Anderson Silva v Chael Sonnen as the headlining bout to Jose Aldo v Erik Koch to eventually...
