Cub Swanson squared off against the always dangerous Dustin Poirier at UFC on Fuel TV 7 and came away with a very impressive unanimous decision. Swanson showed effecting and creative striking as well as slick transitions on the ground. Cub has been knocking on the door for a featherweight title shot but after this performance it would be hard to deny him a number one contender fight. Perhaps a fight with the Korean Zombie will come next or he could sit on the shelf for a bit and see who looks more impressive between Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas. Either way Cub’s stock is raising and it will be interesting to see what kind of year he has in 2013.
