Dan Hardy had quite a bit of fun while discussing the chances of Jon Jones retiring after UFC 295 without facing the current group of young heavyweight contenders.

“Bones” previously reigned as the UFC light heavyweight champion before making his debut in the heavyweight division earlier this year. The 36-year-old made short work of Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 to claim the vacant heavyweight title, and he’s now set to defend the belt against former two-time champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 295.

Jones has suggested he might hang up his gloves after fighting Miocic in November, and on his YouTube channel Hardy couldn’t resist citing the former light heavyweight king’s checkered history outside of the cage.

“He was banned for a little bit, they took his d**k pills away from him,” Hardy said with a laugh. “They keep changing the lights in the roads in the place that he’s at. Sometimes it’s green, sometimes it’s red, I’ve gotta go on one, stop on another, what?”

Hardy: Jones 'Wants Everybody To Know He's King'

Some fans have suggested that Jones might be considering retirement to avoid fighting the younger prospects in the heavyweight division, and Hardy says that “Bones” might just be done with trying to appease anyone that doesn’t believe he’s the GOAT.

“He should be king, that’s why he’s sick of it. That’s why he’s sick of it, ‘cause in years gone by Jon Jones would have been king of the town, ‘cause he can kick everyone’s a**. Now he just has to stand guard outside of Jackson-Wink with his semi-automatic and his dog. He is not happy with the current situation, he wants everybody to know he’s king. That’s why he’s not gonna stick around, ‘cause he’s sick of it. ‘Cause people should know he’s king and not be arguing about it.”

Jones had already made a strong case to be considered the GOAT of MMA during his time as a light heavyweight. When he meets Miocic at UFC 295 he’ll be taking on the fighter that many consider to be the greatest heavyweight in the sport’s history.

Miocic will be stepping into the cage for the first time in well over two years when he meets Jones at UFC 295. As impressive as it would be to see “Bones” defeat the 41-year-old, most fans seem more interested in the idea of him facing a rising contender like Sergei Pavlovich or Tom Aspinall.
