M1 Fedor Rizzo Poster June 21

Lost in the madness of the UFC’s back-to-back shows sandwiching “Bellator 71″ this weekend was the fact MMA’s most decorated heavyweight fought Pedro Rizzo in Russia on Thursday.

It took Fedor Emelianenko all of 84 seconds to put the 37-year-old to sleep in their shootout. “The Last Emperor” rocked Rizzo with his patented right hand and pounced on his dazed and confused opponent.

Several more bombs to the dome on the canvas and Rizzo was unconscious. By the time he came to, Emelianenko was raising his hand in victory after collecting his third consecutive win.

Although Emelianenko previously professed this would likely be his last professional outing, he made no mention of hitting the retirement home in his brief post-fight speech.

“Thank God we won. This is our victory,” Emelianenko stated.

Emelianenko made his claim to fame for his vast accomplishments in Japan’s PrideFC in the early-mid 2000′s. At one stage during his illustrious career, Emelianenko had rattled off 27 consecutive Ws.

However, some will always question his credentials because he never competed in the UFC.

“M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo” took place inside Ice Palace in St. Petersburg.
