Francisco “Massaranduba” Trinaldo announced today on his Facebook page that he’s facing Gleison Tibau at UFC 153. However, UFC officials have yet to confirm the fight.
“Massaranduba” competed on “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil” at middleweight, but he’s dropping down to his more natural weight class of lightweight. He made his UFC debut at UFC 147, defeating Delson Heleno by first-round technical knockout. He is 11-1 with his lone loss coming to UFC featherweight, Iuri Alcantara.
Tibau is coming off a controversial decision loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 148. Prior to that loss, he had won five of six fights. Tibau is 25-8 overall and 10-6 inside the UFC.
UFC 153 takes place October 13th at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is headlined by a UFC featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and Erik Koch.
