The Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted a press conference Thursday to announce a welterweight title unification bout between reigning king Georges St-Pierre and interim champ Carlos Condit (Pictured) will headline UFC 154. A “Champion vs. Champion” affair, if you will. However, despite the fact both fighters can stake claim to being the division’s top dog – as each had a bling-bling belt placed in front of them on the podium – neither of the 170-pounders wanted to be recognize as the weight class’ ruler. “For me, in my contract, I was supposed to defend my title every year and I couldn’t do it because of injury,” St-Pierre stated. “So the real champion to me is Carlos Condit and it’s up to me to take the title. So I’m going for the title shot. That’s how I see it.” Prior to December’s knee operation, St-Pierre was originally scheduled to defend his hardware against Condit at UFC 137. The baddest welterweight in bare feet hasn’t been seen since beating Jake Shields at UFC 1
