The Flying Knee MMA:
With all the media attention hovering around the always controversial Nick Diaz and his anticipated title fight with Georges St-Pierre, it would appear that the other four welterweight featured on the main card have been rendered nonessential. One of those welterweights is potential top contender Johny Hendricks, who meets former Interim champ Carlos Condit in the co-main event slot on Saturday night.
Hendricks cemented his spot as a top contender with wins over Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck and Martin Kampmann, two of which he finished early in the first round. It was assumed that he would be next in line to challenge Georges but plans were changed when the champ chose to face the returning Nick Diaz instead. "He's gotten me in an armbar. He's knocked me out,"...
You didn't expect this one to go smoothly did you?
UFC president Dana White previously stated UFC 158 features an unofficial welterweight tournament because Saturday’s card showcases three critical 170-pound scraps, which include several of the division’s elite fighters and the weight class’ king in Georges St-Pierre.
Well, if we were going to break out our brackets, Carlos Condit (pictured) and Johny Hendricks would be paired...
