With all the media attention hovering around the always controversial Nick Diaz and his anticipated title fight with Georges St-Pierre, it would appear that the other four welterweight featured on the main card have been rendered nonessential. One of those welterweights is potential top contender Johny Hendricks, who meets former Interim champ Carlos Condit in the co-main event slot on Saturday night.  Hendricks cemented his spot as a top contender with wins over Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck and Martin Kampmann, two of which he finished early in the first round. It was assumed that he would be next in line to challenge Georges but plans were changed when the champ chose to face the returning Nick Diaz instead.
