Joaquin Buckley Told To Call Out Superstar If He Beats Vicente Luque At UFC Fight Night Atlantic City: 'They Will Make That Fight That Night'
Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

This weekend's UFC co-main event in Atlantic City sees Vicente Luque try and defend his spot in the rankings against Joaquin Buckley who replaces Sean Brady.

Having lost to some of the top contenders in the division, this fight is hugely important for Luque if he is going to still be considered a top contender at 170-pounds.

For Buckley, he now has the opportunity to extend his winning streak to three and break into the top 15 rankings with a win.

Beating Luque would open up a lot of opportunities for "New Mansa" based off of his current form and highlight reel.

So much so that if he capitalizes on the opportunity this Saturday night, the biggest fight of his career to date could be right around the corner in Chael Sonnen's opinion.

Chael Sonnen Suggests Ideal Scenario For Joaquin Buckley If He Is Successful On Saturday Night

On a recent episode of Good Guy/Bad Guy, Sonnen and Daniel Cormier debated what is at stake for both men involved in the co-main event.

"The Bad Guy" suggested that this could be the win that Buckley needs to try and earn himself an even bigger fight next time out if he says the right name.

With a ranking next to his name, Sonnen suggested that given Buckley's track record for explosive finishes, he could earn the next shot at the welterweight division's newest contender, Michael "Venom" Page.

"If Luque wins, where could we see him going next? I think that's gonna take you a little bit of time to answer and I think we'd like to hear from Luque. Does he have a call out he would like to do? Does he have something personal we don't know about? Meanwhile, I could answer it real easy for Buckley. This is a feature guy that's got highlight reel knockouts. If he gets a win, he grabs a microphone, he calls out Michael 'Venom' Page, they will make that fight that night and you and I are going to co-sign it come Monday when we do our next show."
