It’s the little things that we don’t hear about that makes MMA such a brutal sport to partake in (things like having a metal tool ground into your skull to break down scar tissue, piece by piece). Between the day after day grind of training, the actual fight (which most fighters agree is the best/relatively easiest part), it’s a miracle that we have a large pool of quality fighters that aren’t complete barbarians. Joe Lauzon is the perfect example of the anti-underevolved humanoid swinging bungalows in the cage for our entertainment. The  guy is a businessman, an admitted nerd, and is one of the most cogent fighters in the MMA game. Knowing he’s as smart as he is, it’s crazy that he’s decided to punch people for a living and is willing to put himself through what he does to make a living.
