While plenty of chatter continues to circle reigning UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones (Pictured) regarding a potential superfight against middleweight king Anderson Silva, Jones remains focused on just two things – rehabbing his injured elbow and beating Chael Sonnen on April 27th to collect his fifth straight title defense. “Nothing is guaranteed right now,” Jones told FUEL TV’s UFC Tonight of one day facing Silva. “Sonnen is the only challenge that I have and that is my super fight. If I win this fight, I’ll be tied with Tito Ortiz, who is the greatest light heavyweight of all time. And that is my ultimate goal. “My door is not really open for the fight, but who knows what the future holds?” Jones and Silva initially professed they would never step inside the Octagon together. Silva has claimed Jones is his “friend” and has been publicly pursuing a blockbuster bout against welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. “Bones,” however, appears to have softened his hard stance, especially if “The Spider” wants to keep swimming in Jones’ pond. “You know, everything is possible and we are put on the show to dream big and not limit ourselves,” the 25-year-old added. “But I am happy with what I’m doing and how I’ve been able to provide for my family with my championships. And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. “If he moves up [to light heavyweight] and wants to challenge me to my own belt, then that is a different story.” Silva holds the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses at 10, but has sprinkled in three 205-pound contests during his unbeaten six-year run in the big leagues. The 37-year-old has finished all of his light heavyweight victims within the opening round, including a blowout TKO win over Stephan Bonnar in his most recent outing.
