First it was BJ Penn, then Nick Diaz, and now Matt Hamill (Pictured) has decided to cut his retirement short. According to Yahoo! Sports, Hamill will make his return to the big leagues against Octagon rookie Roger Hollett at UFC 152.

“The Hammer” called it quits after being violently put down by Alexander Gustafsson last August at UFC 133. Prior to that, the likeable wrestler dropped a unanimous decision defeat to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 130.

The 35-year-old emerged onto the mixed martial arts scene in 2006 as a contestant on the third season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” He owns a respectable 10-4 record, with all but his first professional bout coming under the UFC’s banner.

Hamill is the only legally deaf athlete to ever compete in the UFC.

Hollett enters the planet’s premier MMA promotion riding a five-fight winning streak. He most recently took a split decision victory over John Hawk at “Bellator 57” in November.

UFC 152 takes place September 22nd inside Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Here are the athletes expected to perform up north:

Simeon Thoresen vs. Seth Baczynski

Dan Miller vs. Sean Pierson

Walel Watson vs. Mitch Gagnon

Marcus Brimage vs. Jim Hettes

Matt Hamill vs. Roger Hollett

Vinny Magalhaes vs. Igor Pokrajac

Evan Dunham vs. T.J. Grant

Cub Swanson vs. Charles Oliveira

BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald

Brian Stann vs. Michael Bisping

Joseph Benavidez vs. Demetrious Johnson (Vacant flyweight championship bout)
