Bantamweight stars Sara McMann and Alexis Davis have officially joined the UFC. The news was announced on the UFC 157 media conference on Tuesday afternoon although no specific match-up were revealed.
The undefeated Sara McMann transitioned over to MMA two years ago after earning a silver medal in Olympic wrestling. With her most recent win against Shayna Baszler back at Invicta FC 3, McMann scheduled to meet UFC 157 main event title challenger Liz Carmouche prior to suffering a knee injury. Whilst she was heavily rumoured to be joining the UFC soon Ronda Rousey’s arrival it has taken several months for the two parties to reach an agreement.
Davis is coming off two impressive wins under the Invicta FC banner including a “Submission of the Night” win over Shayna Baszler. Having gone 2-1 in Strikeforce with wins over Julie Kedzie and Amanda Nunes before suffering a loss to Sara Kaufman.
