The Ultimate Fighting Championships made an emphatic statement this afternoon when they announced the release of 16 fighters from their roster. Former welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch was amongst the sixteen fighters cut by the organization. MMAfighting.com’s Ariel Helwani broke the news earlier today, confirming the news with UFC President Dana White.
Jon Fitch is 2-2-1 in his last five fights with losses to Demian Maia and Johny Hendricks, which hardly justifies a release from his contract.
