'Not Even Going To Be Close. I Think He Gets Beat!' - UFC Fighters Predict How Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill Plays Out At UFC 300
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

UFC featherweight fighter Damon Jackson does not appear to have much confidence in Jamahal Hill.

Last year, "Sweet Dreams" was forced to vacate the UFC light heavyweight championship after injuring his Achilles tendon. In the aftermath, Alex Pereira got his hands on the vacant gold, besting Jiří Prochazka back at UFC 295.

Next month, at UFC 300, Hill will get his chance at regaining the crown when he collides with "Poatan" in the main event.

'He's Not Gonna Have a Full Camp' - Jackson On Hill's Chances Against Pereira

In a recent video from James Lynch, several fighters gave their predictions for Pereira vs. Hill. One of them was Damon Jackson, who believes Hill will not be 100 percent for the fight and will likely suffer as a result.

Jackson made reference to the relatively late nature of the main event's announcement, suggesting the fight was a last-minute choice by the UFC due to other bouts falling through for the event.

With this in mind, he suspects Hill might not have even had a full training camp by fight night considering the severity of his injury last year and its lengthy recovery time.

"Bro, I think that whenever they announced that, they literally like called Jamahal the day before they announced it," Jackson said. "And they're like 'Hey, you're fighting this day.' And I think that I don't think he had a clue who he was gonna fight. So, I think it's not even gonna be close, I think he gets beat because he's not gonna have a full camp, he's not gonna have, you know, time to heal from a freaking Achilles, like, he wasn't ready to fight. Like, I guarantee you he didn't know about that fight, they just were panicked and threw it together."

Danny Barlow, meanwhile, seemed far more enthusiastic about the matchup, praising both fighters before rolling with Jamahal Hill as his choice for winner.

Elsewhere, Fernando Padilla aligned with Jackson, seemingly having little confidence in Hill for this bout.

Concerns were raised about Hill's Achilles injury by Kurt Holobaugh as well, with the general consensus being the physical setback might hinder Hill on fight night.
