It was an ugly weekend in Vegas. And I mean that in the best way possible. Things got off to a great start with the prelims on Facebook and FX. Then we came to a screeching halt when Leben and Brunson took center stage. It was one of the saddest looking fights in the year, neither man seemed to want it. Credit to Brunson for getting the win on less than two weeks notice. Okami and Belcher followed things up by acting out the exact performance they put on together at UFC 62. Okami emerged victorious once again via unanimous decision while fans inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena and on Twitter alike started to doze in and out and consciousness. With Tim Boetsch coming up it felt like we could be experiencing Calgary all over again.

Then Boetsch Bloody Boetsch happened. Costa Philippou scored the TKO victory after a series of unfortunate events for Boetsch, (broken hand, headbutt, eyepoke) and things kinda seemed to be getting back on track. At least Joe Lauzon was coming up, it's not like this guy ever has a boring fight, right? Not only did Lauzon put on another performance that cements him as a shoo-in for the Hall of Violence, Jim Miller also put on a career defining performance that puts him right back "in the mix" as they say at 155. It was a bout that belongs on everybody's fight of the year list, hopefully you didn't yours yet.

Then there was Cain vs. JDS II. Velasquez didn't just take his belt back from JDS, he took his soul as well in an instant Heavyweight classic for the ages. Part 2 of 3. Luckily for Dos Santos he'll get the opportunity to get both back sooner rather than later. Junior deserves full marks for going the distance with a man on a mission like Velasquez who wouldn't of stopped if they told him he had to go five more rounds. The fans that boo'ed Dos Santos after the 25 minutes he spent getting battered by the better man on the night, shame on you. Alright, enough of the tomfoolery. Let's take a quick gander at your Weekend in Violence playlist - the UFC 155 edition.

 1. UFC 155 Backstage Pass. A comment by some dude name Zachary on YouTube that should be noted - "Cain cries blood. Everyone's f**ked in that division."

2. Miller joins the Fuel TV crew to talk about his "Bloody Good Fight" with Joe Lauzon. Highlights included.

3. Costa Philippou post-fight interview and fight highlights from his TKO victory over Tim Boetsch.

4. Joe Lauzon ties Anderson Silva with 12 post-fight UFC bonuses. Here a battered Lauzon talks to Ariel Helwani about his Fight of the Night performance with Jim Miller. Lauzon tweeted that he got 40 stitches and lost a lot of blood from the Miller fight. But "It's all good." Warrior.

5. Flyweight contender John Moraga talks about his submission of the night performance.

6. Jamie Varner performs a reverse tombstone pile driver on Melvin Guillard. via - backyardsportsblog

7. We finish with Joe Rogan's in cage post-fight interviews with Velasquez and JDS. Happy New Year everybody.
