Next Saturday night in Vegas one of the most storied careers in MMA history will come to a close. If anyone is under the impression that Tito Ortiz is looking to end his career laying down, you're sorely mistaken. People want to concentrate on the losses. How about the wins? Tito holds victories over Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort, Matyushenko, 3 wins over Ken Shamrock, and of course Forrest Griffin. Let us not forget about the KO slam he gaves us against Elvis Sinosic. While these guys may not be the biggest stars in the world today, they were when Tito was running things.

Yes, Ortiz has only come out on top in 1 of his last 8 fights. 5 of the 7 he didn't emerge victorious were against former champions like himself. He pushed Lyoto Machida too the limit. He drew an up and coming Rashad Evans, then almost finished him on limited notice years later. Add in a split decision loss to Griffin the second time around and of course that TKO loss to then champion Chuck Liddell and you really have to give the guy credit where credit is due. While Ortiz cannot erase all of those losses, this 3rd fight against Griffin gives him a chance to go one up on another great rival and leave the sport with his hand raised in Fight City on July 4th weekend, a weekend that treated him extremely well last year.

After the break "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" tells us when he will finish Forrest Griffin.
