Urijah Faber hasn't lost in a non-title fight since 2005. He wasn't interested in bucking that trend last night. In a rematch of a 2006 contest that took place on Ivan Menjivar's stomping grounds, Faber would be looking to defeat his opponent in a more decisive manner. The first fight ended via DQ due to an illegal upkick that "The Pride of El Salvador" landed on "The California Kid." Let's see what the damage was the second time around. The Stats: Faber was extremely accurate landing at 71% clip when it came to his significant strikes for a total of 17 of 24. Menjivar landed 3 of 7. Menjivar landed one takedown on Faber, but it would be Faber who would pass Menjivar's guard twice and get one key reversal. Faber's one submission attempt of the night would prove to be the only one he needed . The Finish: Urijah Faber improves to 27-6 by completing the 7th rear naked choke of his career, 15th submission total, on Ivan Menjivar who drops to 25-10. The finish came at the 4:34 marker of the very first round.  What's Next: Faber says he wants the title but with interim champion Renan Barao currently waiting for Dominick Cruz to get back into action that isn't going to happen for him during the 2013 calendar year. Nor should it. A grudge match between Cruz and Faber is a must in the coming years but a rematch with Barao isn't something we need to see just yet. In his last 5 title fights Faber is 0-5. It's time for him to take a couple of non-title fights in a row for once to build a little streak again before getting another title shot. I know it may be a little bit out of left field right now but for historical purposes I'd love to see Urijah Faber vs. Mike Thomas Brown III. We haven't seen Brown since last May when he came out the unanimous decision victor over Daniel Pineda. Faber is clearly better than anyone that isn't holding that strap at 135 and 145, which means there really just isn't a whole lot of interest in him fighting any top ranked fighters other than Michael McDonald. A fight against Mike Brown gives Faber the opportunity to avenge the one man who has beaten him twice in his storied career. It also gives Brown the chance to own Faber's soul for a lifetime. This is a fight that would be just be plain awesome for all of the WEC fans of old. For Menjivar anything goes at this point. He beats the guys he's supposed to beat and he loses to the guys that are supposed to beat him. Surprisingly he's never crossed paths with Takeya Mizugaki yet. That's a fight I'd like to see regardless of what happens between Mizugaki and Caraway in Saitama this weekend. Video Highlights:  To get to the Faber vs. Menjivar action you're going to have to fast forward past Rousey vs. Carmouche, and Machida vs. Hendo. Enjoy.   Video: Highlights: UFC 157
