What a night, what a fight. Liz Carmouche appeared to be on her way to shocking the world when she got on the champions back and started cranking her face. Like a true champion though, the "Rowdy" one would survivee the scare and eventually get to her comfort zone, the ground, where she yanked Carmouche's arm en route to her 7th straight 1st round armbar submission victory. 

The Stats: Rousey outstruck the challenger 41-22, 7-4 in the significant category. Rousey hit the one takedown that she needed and both fighters went for a sub attempt, one of them forced the tap. 

The Finish:

Ronda Rousey improves to 7-0 by taking out Liz Carmouche (8-3) via armbar submission at the 4:49 marker of the very first round. This was the longest fight of Rousey's career. 

What's Next:

Rousey gets the winner of Tate vs. Zingano, a fight that takes place on April 13th during the TUF  17 finale. As much as a TUF season with Rousey and Tate as head coaches would be good for the sport right now, waiting that long for a rematch would be bad. If Tate wins hopefully we get a rematch this fall. If Zingano wins I'd hope for the same. 

For Carmouche we'd have to wait and see. Dana White says that about 10 more fighters are coming to the women's 135 pound division. We already know about McMann and Davis but I'd rather see them fight each other. Maybe Carmouche vs. Baszler is Shayna decides to join the party? There are tons of options for Liz but we'll likely be waiting until after Invicta FC 5 to see who's next for Girl-Rilla. If I had to pick right now I'd say the winner of Amanda Nunes vs. Kaitlin Young. Video Highlights:
