UFC featherweight fighter Julio Arce has endured a frustrating time weighing in for tomorrow's UFC Fight Night: Blanchfield vs. Fiorot card.
Arce is schedule to take on Herbert Burns in a 145lbs clash at the event. Today, however, Arce's weigh-in saw him come in 2lbs overweight. The 147lber was granted an opportunity to have another go at making weight.
In a truly bizarre moment, however, Arce's second weigh-in attempt saw him clock in 0.25lbs heavier than he had the first time. The first question the fighter had for the second weigh-in was "Where's the other guy?"
The question stemmed from the change in commission member conducting the weigh-ins between his first and second attempts. An understandably dumbfounded Arce looked shocked when he received the bad news, and even suggested recalibrating the scale.
MMA reporter Nolan King tweeted info on the matter, explained that the commissioner who conducted Arce's first weigh-in stepped out after weighing the first 27 fighters to step on the scales. Furthermore, both Arce and his team were unsurprisingly frustrated with the bizarre turn of events.
Somehow, Julio Arce gained .25 pounds over the past hour. The lead NJ commissioner weighed in the first 27 people (and his first attempt). Another commission member weighed in his second attempt. His team was not happy/in disbelief. #UFCAtlanticCity

The weight issue has come with both good and bad news for Julio Arce. On one hand, his fight with Herbert Burns will at least be going ahead. In a spot of bad news, however, he will be fined 20% of his purse for tomorrow night's clash due to failing to make weight.
Needless to say, if he and his team were already furious over the weight confusion, the fine is only going to add fuel to the fire.
Nolan King once again took to X to confirm both the fine and the fight's status.
Julio Arce vs. Herbert Burns will continue, as scheduled. Arce fined 20 percent, per promotion officials. #UFCAtlanticCity
