Ever since I started this little blog in a Mississauga basement back in 2010 there has been one constant. Anderson Silva was the best pound for pound mixed martial artist on the planet. Over the past three years we've seen a handful of the all-time greats like Silva get humbled. Fedor, Penn, and Fujii are the top names that come to mind. Over the past three years more people than I ever thought I would feel comfortable with have stopped by here and spent a minute or three to read this blog. A fun little MMA blog where I've now been joined by a staff that I can say with a straight face I am a huge fan of. Now I could continue and go on and on with the sentimental nonsense until the cows comes home. Let's just put it in a nutshell and get the point. Dude, Anderson Silva just got knocked out. But let us not forget that he may not be even close to finished yet. Will he get a chance to put Weidman asleep and recapture the greatness we've grown so accustomed to that made a moment like this past weekends so shocking? Or like Fedor before him, have we already seen the best of Anderson Silva and has his time at the top already come to an end without warning? Stay tuned. Over the span of Silva's reign we've watched young fighters virtually grow up  inside and out of the cage. For example, we've seen Jon Jones go from a soft spoken and humble young man, one who possessed unspeakable gifts that gave him an infinite upside in this sport, to a superstar with a Nike sponsorship in just a handful of years. When Anderson Silva decided to drop his hands and engage in tomfoolery roulette this past Saturday night, Weidman wasn't the only New York born man who benefited from the historic and not soon to be forgotten outcome. Jon Jones just became the greatest pound-for-pound mixed martial artist in the world today. It's not the way he wanted it to happen, it's just how this crazy sport works. Below you'll find the updated hov-mma Male P4P rankings as they stand today. Male P4P (7/9/13) 1. Jon Jones (18-1) (↑2) 2. Anderson Silva (33-5) (↓1) 3. Georges St. Pierre (23-2) (3) 4.
