The NASCAR season is back upon us and it is time to get you caught up with everything that happened in the offseason. Start ‘N’ Park Blog will be going through their list of drivers running the full schedule in 2013 and telling you what you can expect from those drivers in the new year. Today’s entry is the driver of the #10 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, 2013 Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Danica Patrick. Driver: Danica Patrick #10 Sponsor(s): GoDaddy.com Make: Chevrolet Team: Stewart-Haas Racing Crew Chief: Tony Gibson 2012 Finish: 59th (ran 10 races not for points) What’s new for 2013: Patrick moves up to the Sprint Cup Series after a year and a half in the Nationwide Series and gunning for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title. She will be paired with veteran crew chief Tony Gibson, who led Ryan Newman to a couple of wins and into the Chase before. Mike’s Rank: 20th Mike’s Take: After a disastrous start to her 10 races last year, Patrick did show a little improvement each week. If possible she needs to fly under the radar and just pick up top 20 finishes, then move that to top 15 finishes, and the results will follow. More track time will be a plus and race each week in the series. What won’t be good for her is all the Danica/Stenhouse jokes that everyone will have. Maybe we should call them Danhouse? No, no, that’s stupid…but the plus is it doesn’t matter how it finishes, she’ll have the Rookie of the Year trophy in her house! Jason’s Rank: 25th Jason’s Take: Patrick will perform well enough to finish the season in the top thirty in points with many top twenty finishes. Wrecks won’t be as big as a problem as they were in 2012 but, they will still be mixed in her season. Brandon’s Rank: 24th Brandon’s Take: Danica was fast during SpeedWeeks Testing. Brittany’s Rank: 23rd Brittany’s Take: She won’t be the worst out there, but not the best.
