The NASCAR season is back upon us and it is time to get you caught up with everything that happened in the offseason. Start ‘N’ Park Blog will be going through their list of drivers running the full schedule in 2013 and telling you what you can expect from those drivers in the new year. Today’s entry is the driver of the #17 Best Buy, 2013 Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. Driver: Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. #17 Sponsor(s): Best Buy/Fifth Third Bank/Zest Make: Ford Team: Roush Fenway Racing Crew Chief: Scott Graves 2012 Finish: 59th (ran 4 races not for points) What’s new for 2013: Stenhouse moves up to the Sprint Cup Series after back to back Nationwide Series titles. He will be paired with Scott Graves, who worked with Stenhouse in his couple of starts last year. Mike’s Rank: 17th Mike’s Take: Stenhouse has the talent, he just doesn’t have the seat time yet to do much with his rookie effort. I see him being hit or miss each week, he’ll either be by the front or many laps down in the back. He should hit his stride by about Chase time, but it’ll be too late for him. He comes home 17th and with rookie honors. Jason’s Rank: 18th Jason’s Take: Even though I predict Stenhouse Jr to finish 18th, he’ll have a decent first full-time season in Cup. He’ll have an average rookie season which will consist of decent finishes. He may win a race or two as well. Brandon’s Rank: 28th Brittany’s Rank: 15th Brittany’s Take: He’ll race a lot harder to prove he’s not just Danica’s play toy.
