Earnhardt Ganassi Racing announced today that Jamie McMurray will drive the #1 Advil Chevrolet this weekend in the Pure Michigan 400 being run at the Michigan International Speedway. McMurray, currently 15th place in the Sprint Cup Series standings, is very happy with the new partnership. “I am excited to have such a well-known and trusted name like Advil® to partner with for this race.  Just like our sport is all about speed, so is the new fast acting Advil®.  Michigan is one of the fastest tracks that we race on, and no other OTC pain reliever works faster than Advil®. I am happy they are onboard with our team for this event.” Leveraging the concept of Advil being a fast-acting pain reliever made NASCAR a perfect place to advertise their product, according to Product Manager Beth Schwarts. “Jamie McMurray’s partnership with Advil® is a natural fit for new fast acting Advil® because they’re both all about speed. McMurray competes in the ultra-fast sport of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing, and no other OTC pain reliever works faster than Advil®.” Advil and parent company Pfizer, Inc. are no stranger to NASCAR. Advil used to be on a Nationwide Series car and for years Pfizer used it’s Viagra brand on Mark Martin’s Sprint Cup Series car among others. McMurray has 21 previous starts at the two-mile Michigan track. He’s led 36 laps while collecting one top-5 and four top-10 finishes. He is coming off of an 11th place finish yesterday at Watkins Glen and looks to carry that momentum to the Irish Hills.
