Chris Buescher came close to his first win of the season at Darlington Raceway, but it was Brad Keselowski who was able to take the checkered flag for RFK Racing instead.

The No. 6 utilized Buescher’s misfortune to his advantage, as the No. 17 was raced hard by Tyler Reddick, and a collision between the two wheelmen led to both of their afternoons ending in disappointment. Still, Buescher was happy for his boss in Keselowski, even if he didn’t get the result he wanted.

After the race, he sent a congratulatory message to Keselowski on X, formerly known as Twitter, before addressing the incident with Reddick.

“First thing is first, big congrats to @keselowski,” Buescher posted on X. “That’s a long time coming for him. He has invested so much time and effort into the organization to make @RFKracing better. Very happy for him and that whole team getting to victory lane.”

Of course, Buescher spoke with Reddick on pit road after the race, in a heated conversation. While Buescher was proud of his team for giving him a car capable of winning at Darlington, it’s obvious he blamed Reddick for not standing in victory lane on Sunday.

“Second, I’m proud of our @FifthThird team today,” Buescher added. “We ran Top-10 all day and adjusted on it after getting some damage and then applied some strategy to get us in a position to win with under 10 laps to go. That’s all I can ask for as a driver… just a chance to go get a trophy.

“Third… yeah I was a little pi--ed. Our whole team deserves to be in victory lane. We keep showing speed like this and that will happen… just wish it was today. Really looking forward to the 600 after the All Star race.”

At the least, RFK Racing was still able to get the win on Sunday, but after losing by 0.001 seconds to Kyle Larson last weekend at Kansas, it’s evident frustration is being built up by the No. 17. Regardless, he’s running well, and we’ve seen him rip off multiple wins at a time in the past.

As Buescher mentioned, the All-Star Race will take place this weekend, but then it’s back to business in the Coca-Cola 600 for the Cup Series. That’d be an awesome way for the No. 17 to get back to their winning ways.

Nevertheless, Chris Buescher is proving he’s a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR Cup Series week-in and week-out. He’s not happy with how everything went down at Darlington, but there’ll be more opportunities to get to victory lane for the No. 17 in the future, that’s for sure.
