NASCAR’s sole female full-time racer Hailie Deegan is coming to the 2024 season with many spirations after the underwhelming season’s in the Truck Series. Deegan failed to live up to the expectations during her time in the third division and next season might be her shot at redemption, which could yield Cup opportunities.

She will drive the No:15 Ford Mustang of ASM Racing from 2024. The team has announced the signing of seasoned veteran Joe Willaims. He has been a crew chief for over two decades and has been in the pit box of racers such as Andy Lally , Cole Custer , and Chase Briscoe. In 2022 he won an Xfinity race with Custer and SS Green Light Racing.

Willaims has set big goals for Deegan going into the 2024 season. He detailed the objectives of AM Racing next year including strengthening their project in the second tier. He pointed out that with Deegan behind the wheel, they will be not just fighting for top-10 finishes in races, but also is hoping to contend for wins.

We continue to work hard to strengthen our Xfinity Series program, and with Hailie behind the wheel, it presents us an opportunity to continue showcasing our efforts but also put her in a position to not only contend for top-10 finishes but hopefully challenge for a win throughout the year too. Willaims said, as reported by NBC.

Hailie Deegan is excited to work with Joe Willaims

While talking about Willaims’ appointment, Deegan pointed out that she is excited to work with such an experienced crew chief. She sees a lot of good races with Williams and is eager to witness what is awaiting them in the future.

I am looking forward to working with Joe (Williams) next year as my crew chief. With Joe’s knowledge and experience with AM Racing, alongside the support from the Ford Performance team, I’m really excited to see what we can accomplish together.

Deegan has been waiting for an Xfinity opportunity for a long time as the Truck Series has never been something that particularly suited her. She had some solid outings last year in the Xfinity series when given the opportunity while she was struggling in the third tier.
