ROUND TWO AT IMS - Along with the Nationwide Series, JRM’s two-car team makes its second trip to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. The series made its debut at the historic 2.5-mile facility last year. KAHNE BACK IN 5 CAR - Kasey Kahne returns to drive the Great Clips Shark Week Chevrolet this weekend in his eighth of 12 scheduled races for JR Motorsports this season. In his previous seven starts for the team, Kahne has tallied two top-five and five top-10 finishes. He has led 60 laps and earned an average finish of 9.6. INTIMIDATING NEW LOOK FOR GREAT CLIPS RIDE - Great Clips has partnered with Discovery Channel’s Shark Week to showcase a special shark-themed paint scheme on the No. 5 at Indianapolis. Kahne will drive the car in commemoration of Shark Week, a week-long series of programming that raises awareness and promotes respect for one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures. Shark Week begins Sunday, Aug. 4 on the Discovery Channel. INAUGURAL POLE AWARD - Kahne holds the distinction of earning the series’ inaugural pole at the Brickyard on July 28, 2012, with a time of 51.054 sec. at 176.284 mph. NO STRANGER TO SUCCESS – Kahne knows how to successfully navigate Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a fact proven by his Sprint Cup Series statistics there. In nine starts, he holds two top-five and four top-10 finishes, including a runner-up effort in 2005. He has also led 88 laps at the facility. JRM FAST FACTS - Both of Regan Smith’s two wins this year (Talladega Superspeedway and Michigan International Speedway) have come at tracks in length of two miles or more. The JRM teams have notched five top-five and seven top-10 finishes at tracks meeting that criteria. Drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kahne, Smith and Brad Sweet have all contributed a top-10 to the tally. NNS AUTOGRAPH SESSION - Regan Smith will join a number of other Nationwide Series drivers in an autograph session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 27 , from 10 to 11 a.m. local time. The session will be located in the infield pavilion. Wristbands for the session will be distributed beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning in the pagoda plaza. 7 TEAM CHASSIS INTEL - Smith will race chassis No. 800 at Indianapolis. This chassis went to victory lane in its only start this season at Michigan. 5 TEAM CHASSIS UPDATE - Kahne and the No. 5 crew unveil chassis no. 804 this weekend. It is a brand new chassis for the team. KASEY KAHNE ON INDIANAPOLIS: “Winning at the Brickyard and the Daytona 500 are on the top of my list. I think the type of racing background you have determines which one is more important to you. For me, coming up in the sprint car ranks, I raced in the Indianapolis area a lot and learned early on how significant winning at the Brickyard was. I have two chances this weekend to get a win for Great Clips. The 5 team and JRM are carrying some good momentum from Brad’s solid run at Chicagoland and I think we can take advantage of that this weekend.” REGAN SMITH ON INDIANAPOLIS: “Indianapolis is one of three tracks that still gives me goose bumps every time I go through the tunnel. There is something about that place. When you get on the racetrack and take that first trip down the front straightaway with the grandstands on both sides, it’s special. “I feel great about going there even though this is the first time I’ve been there in a Nationwide car. Greg (Ives) has a lot of experience there and knows that track well. I have lot of confidence in how fast our racecar is going to be. We definitely have a great opportunity to win there.” -JR Motorsports PR

Brickyard a thrill, and test, for Dale

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a love-hate relationship with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. While the 38-year-old appreciates the history of the track, his results on the two-mile loop have been less than stellar -- until last year. After 13 starts at Indy, Earnhardt posted his first top five behind the wheel of the No. 88 Chevy in the 2012 Brickyard 400. But Junior remembers his first...

Earnhardt Not Worried About Sponsorship Question Marks

It’s surprising to think that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. does not have full sponsorship for this year. The most popular driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ranks should be a natural for corporate America to slap their logos on. There’s various reasons why nothing has been announced, but whatever they are, they don’t concern the driver. “I think that we have had a lot of good...
